If you're a local, you know what an amazing variety of items we have on the island at garage sales and fundraisers. Now there's a market that brings all of that variety together in one place!
We were happy to have our events at Greenbank Farm from 2021-2023, and are super pleased that events are happening there again! But it did seem to be a bit of a drive for folks, so we have moved to...
5642 Bayview Road
Langley, WA 98260
But wait, we hear our fellow locals say. At the same time as the Bayview Farmers Market?
A: Yes and no. For those who want to shop both local finds and local foods, we're right there at the same time!
Not interested in being at Bayview Corner during the farmers market? We hear you, too. The nice people at Bayview Hall had already thought about this, and we've got a couple of options:
First, if you do want to be there Saturday, the flea market starts at 9, where the farmers market doesn't start until 10. So if you'd like to come out early and beat (most) of the crowds, you can!
Better yet, Bayview Hall is letting us set up a day early and do a Friday Night Market from 5-8! So you can still shop from locals for anything from handmade arts and crafts to things in their garage that need rehoming, and stay in bed Saturday morning. :)
Bonus: we're inside the Hall, so no matter the weather, we'll be comfortable.
Flea markets in 2024 are last Fridays/Saturdays of the month from May 25/26 (Memorial Day weekend) thru September 27/28.
The inside of the main part of Bayview Hall is 40'W x 50' long. That does include some furniture that cannot be moved, so some of the wall spaces are going to have to incorporate them into your setup. Just FYI.
We're going to set up with nine 10'W x 8'D spaces along the walls (electricity available, $35), and six 10'W x 5' D spaces in the center of the room (no electricity, room for yourself and an 8' table, $25). Setup takes place from 3-5 on Fridays and 7-9 on Saturdays. Teardown and cleanup must be complete by 2 pm Saturday.
Vendors will need to provide all their own tables and other display. The Hall has plenty of chairs.
The Hall's floor is wood, so all precautions should be taken to keep it in good condition! Don't drag anything across the floor. If you have furniture legs or anything sitting on the floor that might scratch, bring something to put underneath it. If you have anything that might spill, put down a tarp and put your items inside a plastic tub of some kind. There are multiple entrances with a a few steps to climb, and a single ramp in the front of the Hall.
Parking at the Hall is not an option on Saturdays, except long enough to setup. Afterwards, you must move your car to the WhidbeyTel parking lot.
Unless you pick one of our few outside spots on the side of the Hall, in which case you can vend with your vehicle if that's what you use for a display.
There's no percentage to us or the Hall, and event insurance is included in the space fee.
Any items are allowed, new or used, except for the following:
- Weapons
- Cannabis
- Chemicals unless they are sealed shut and put inside a plastic tub
- Anything illegal to sell
- Animals
Once you book your space below and receive your confirmation email, come out during one of the setup times. If you do not see an available booking for the time and date you want, it means we're sold out. There is no difference in space fee if you can only do Friday or Saturday but not both, but feel free to find another vendor that can do the other day.
No, but you have to make sure that you don't disturb other vendors or their customers, and that is going to be a bit of a challenge in close quarters.
The State of Washington requires a temporary sales tax certificate if you're only selling at 1-2 events a year, and this does include flea markets. More information can be found at https://dor.wa.gov/open-business/business-types/temporary-businesses.
The organizer will not require a copy of your certificate.
No music is allowed unless it's what you're selling, and it isn't disturbing other vendors.
If you book a space and cannot attend, we cannot give a refund, including for weather. You are welcome to give or sell your space to someone else.
The organizer (that would be us) is not part of Bayview Hall management, and they cannot help with any questions you have about the event. Please use the Contact Us form if you need to speak to us.
YES!
In fact, we are very specifically looking for musicians to play for tips and CD sales, especially for the Friday Night markets. Please contact us if you're interested!
